Each week we feature an adoptable animal from the Adams County Humane Society. The goal of ACHS is to find loving, forever homes for every animal in our facility. They will work with you to find the right match for each animal and your family.
Follow These Steps to Adopt
1. Talk about adopting a new pet with all members of your household to confirm that everyone is on board.
2. If you rent talk to your landlord to make sure you understand their pet policies. We will call them to verify before you can adopt.
3. Preview adoptable animals on our website. Prepare questions to ask about the animals you want to meet. Call us at 608-339-6700 to schedule a time to meet with the animals you are interested in.
4. Go to the Adams County Humane Society website and complete/submit an adoption application online.
Harley
Harley came to us as a stray near the end of September after she wandered into a random garage near the Friendship Motel. She is 6 months old and has an almost overwhelming amount of personality for her young age.
She enjoys playing more than anything in the world, even food. She'll play with anything and anyone, except another cat. She can't stand cats, but she does get along with dogs!
Her adoption fee is $75 and she's looking for a family that can put up with her sassy nature in exchange for her sweet snuggles.
bentley
Bentley is a 4-year-old Coonhound who came to ACHS almost one year ago when his owner was no longer able to dedicate the time to him that he deserved.
The staff describe Bentley as being a good boy who loves being petted and enjoys a good walk.
His adoption fee is $250.00 and he deserves to go home with a family who can handle a big fella with an almost regal stature.
Binx
Meet Binx. Binx came in as a tom cat who'd been on his own for a while. He's a senior gentleman who is very laid back and loves naps, cuddles, and hugs.
He hates it when you stop petting him. He gets along with most of the other cats here.
Binx has a lot of love to give so please reach out to us if you are interested in meeting him.
Masha
Meet Masha, a gorgeous, German Shepherd mix. Masha is full of energy and needs a family who will take her for long walks or a run in the park.
Masha needs to be the only dog in the home. She knows her basic commands and is ready to learn more in her new forever home!
The cost to adopt Masha is $250.
This week we have bonded 10 month old, twin lab/boxer mix brothers, Lightning and Bolt. Both boys love to run around and have fun. They need a bit of training but they are so worth it.
Lightning and Bolt weigh about 45 lbs. each and are mostly black with a bit of white. These boys have all their shots, are neutered and microchipped and are ready to go to their forever home.
snow
Snow is an all white adult male Pomeranian Mix. Snow is a stray and just as sweet as can be. We introduced him to some new little friends and he's having a great time with them and he's super friendly with everyone he meets. Snow has had all his shots, is neutered and is microchipped. The cost to adopt him is $250. Contact Adams County Humane Society at 608-339-6700.
Rowan and Flynn came to the shelter with their mama and four siblings when their owner's health failed. They are just like their cousins, Smith and Bowie.
These cuties are all spayed, microchipped, and have all their shots. The cost to adopt these kitties is $75 with a special buddy discount if you adopt either pair!
ali
Ali is a sweet miniature bull terrier who comes to ACHS from an incredibly loving home. Her former owner had to give her up for health reasons.
Ali's former owner has described Ali as loyal, dedicated, loving, and sweet. She has all of her shots, is spayed and is microchipped. The cost to adopt Ali is $250.
Meet Brucie, Robin and Nightwing, our three beautiful Batman kitty boys. Brucie, Robin and Nightwing came to us as strays with their mom, Ivy.
Brucie is black and white, Nightwing is gray and white, and Robin is all black. These adorable boys are four months old, have all their shots, are microchipped and ready to go to their forever homes.
The cost to adopt a kitten at Adams County Humane Society is just $75, but we do have buddy discounts if you adopt more than one.
garfield
We'd like to feature Garfield. He had been attacked by a dog and had been pretty badly injured. After several trips to the vet and time to recuperate, Garfield is really starting to come along. He loves to hang out in the cat room and sit by the window to watch the birds. He's just about ready to move on to his new forever home.
Garfield is about seven years old, microchipped, neutered and has all his shots. The cost to adopt Garfield is just $50. If you are interested in meeting Garfield, please go to our website and fill out an application.
