HUMANE SOCIETY LOGO_edited.png

Each week we feature an adoptable animal from the Adams County Humane Society.  The goal of ACHS is to find loving, forever homes for every animal in our facility.  They will work with you to find the right match for each animal and your family.

Follow These Steps to Adopt

1. Talk about adopting a new pet with all members of your household to confirm that everyone is on board.

2. If you rent talk to your landlord to make sure you understand their pet policies. We will call them to verify before you can adopt.

3. Preview adoptable animals on our website.  Prepare questions to ask about the animals you want to meet.   Call us at 608-339-6700 to schedule a time to meet with the animals you are interested in.

4. Go to our website and complete/submit an adoption application online.

DARLING

We'd like to feature "Darling". "Darling" has the most appropriate name - she really is a darling! Sweet "Darling" was dumped in someone's front yard and luckily the kind lady that found her brought her to ACHS.

This little gal is a 6 month old gray striped kitty and ready to share her love with the right family. She is super friendly and cuddly and loves to play. Another unique fact about "Darling" is that she is a polydactyl kitty - she has 6 toes on her front feet! All the better to play with balls and wand toys!

The cost to adopt "Darling" is just $75 and she has all her shots, is spayed and microchipped. If you are interested in adopting the "purrfect" cat, please read our adoption requirements and complete an online application.

Gibson

This week for Whiskers Wednesday, we'd like to feature "Gibson", an American Pit Bull Terrier mix. "Gibson" was brought in by the sheriff in March. He had been out on his own for quite some time, but that didn't bring him down. "Gibson" was such a happy, playful boy right from the start. He is always in a good mood and is a complete sweetheart. He loves attention. He walks well on a leash and likes to jump in the air. The perfect family for "Gibson" will be patient and kind while training him and taking this energetic guy on all kinds of new adventures!

"Gibson" has all his shots, is neutered and microchipped. The cost to adopt "Gibson" is just $250. If you are interested in meeting "Gibson" please read our adoption requirements and complete an application online. If approved, one of our Adoption Team members will call you to schedule an appointment to meet this friendly fella.

This week, we'd like to feature 2 beautiful one year old cats, twin brothers, named "Squeak" and "Squawk", who are a bonded pair. They came to us as stray feral boys a few months back. They were caught in a trap on someone's property and brought in. We have been working with them and they have really warmed up to everyone. They are totally different cats. They are cuddly and sweet and love to look out the window at the birds. They are quite lovable. They are brown and black tabby cats but they have very unique markings.

We love having "Squeak" and "Squawk" here but we also know it is time for them to move on to their forever home.  "Squeak" and "Squawk" are both neutered, have all their shots and are microchipped. The cost to adopt them is $50 each but we do offer an awesome buddy discount.

If you are interested in meeting these two adorable boys, please go online to our website, fill out an application, or call 608-339-6700 to make an appointment to meet these guys, or any of our other adorable cats.
